I originally asked around and wrote this up for some friends on a list in Poland, so some Polish words are included. Hey, the Internet IS International! Original recipe follows (some but not all of the original notes are cut (edited out) for space reasons):

Well, several have asked for this, and I HAVE asked nearly everybody around. Well, :-{((( seems like me asking for a recipe for mayonnaise (majonez), beer (piwo), or probably more likely, cheese (ser). One 60 year old doctor remembered seeing it made a LONG time ago, but didn't remember how. My info is it takes 3 days to make and 6 months to set, and is - surprise- more often made with RICE than soybeans!


But, for those who want okonomiyaki... Zillions of ideas on that one. For our member who said she couldn't find a place that made it - well, in Japan it seems it is more a HOME COOKED MEAL!

Water enough to make a thick pasty type pancake batter. I guess some people don't use any water???? Just moisture from the egg and other ingredients?
