Fukuoka City is divided into two parts, the old merchants part and the samurai part. In the Gion area of Hakata is an annual festival. This 700 year old festival has groups of young men, scantly clad, carrying floats which weigh about a ton! Next time you are in Fukuoka (mid - late summer) be sure to check this out.

OK, this picture is for those who want something besides men's bums (this beach is about 10 km (6 miles) from the Yamagasa area.)
