Miller's Magic Mint Mocca
A recipe for Miller's Magic Mint Mocca
by Nick Miller
Recipes for both 'fresh' and 'instant' Mint Mocca.
I like to give the 'home made instant version' to family and friends for presents. One year, I was lucky enough to get many Nescafe (tm) coffee cups, so my present included two cups and about 12 servings of Miller's Magic Mint Mocca packaged in a festive Christmas tin. My recipes follows:
Dry version
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Nescafe (tm) Classic Instant Coffee1
- 1 cup Hershey's (tm) Cocoa1
- 1 1/2 cups powdered creamer
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar (or non-sugar substitute for diabetics and weight watchers).
- 1 tablespoon (crushed to a powder) dried mint leaves or include a bottle of mint schnapps or mint liqueur - with directions for a shot per cup.
1 Note: Nescafe (tm) Classic and Hershey's (tm) Cocoa are the tradenames of the respective products. I highly recommend these products in this recipe. (No, I do not work for either company nor do I receive any reimbursement for this plug.)
How to make (for gift giving):
- 1. Mix all the dry ingredients thoroughly.
- 2. Seal in air tight plastic bags. Quantity depends on your generosity. Figure 3 to 4 teaspoons per serving. About half a cup (dry) makes a nice 'small' present, a cup is a fair size, and two or more cups is quite generous.
- 3. Label with ingredients and directions. If possible, pack in a nice tin or bottle.
| Directions: Place 3 to 4 teaspoonsful in a cup or mug. Add boiling water. Stir and Serve. If liqueur is used in place of powdered mint, add one shot per cup. Everything more or less to taste. |
Fresh version
Ingredients:
- Fresh hot brewed coffee
- 1 Tablespoon Hershey's (tm) Cocoa per cup
- Cream or Milk to taste
- Sugar (or non-sugar substitute for diabetics and weight watchers) to taste
- 1 shot (30 to 45 ccs) mint schnapps or mint liqueur
How to make:
- 1. Brew the coffee according to your usual method.
- 2. Add the other ingredients, to taste.
- 3. Serve piping hot.
