Hi! My name's Nick and I come from a small planet called earth.

I don't know exactly when I joined Mensa, but according to what records I have here in Japan, it looks like about July or August of 1986 - going on a decade! It took a long time for me to come to that decision. For many years I had decided against joining, based on the idea of not wanting to belong to an 'exclusive club.' Time will tell, they say, but so far I am not unhappy with my decision to join.

I originally joined Mensa when I lived in the Los Angeles area. I went to a handful of activities over a period of four years there. A few home parties, one memorable one (in 'The Valley', of course - including hot tub and pool (swimsuit optional)), one blah one (in a more 'respectable' community). One was for true audiophiles - two TINY speakers in the back of the room and a WALL with over 140 speakers built in! Once tried to make it a Buff'M meet - wrote a HUGE M in the sand - the other Ms walked by - they thought it was a W! RETEST!

I have been an isolated M for quite some time, and recently joined MIJ. I have joined and recommend the 1-K SIG for post card collectors, and meet other Ms on the net. In fact my most interesting e-correspondent is an M! ;-{))).

Like most Ms, my hobbies are varied; computers, of course, Sci-Fi (Beam me up Scotty, there ain't no intelligent life here!) and obviously Star Trek (tm), cooking, wine and chocolate (not necessarily together, of course!), eating, photography, writing, naturism, travelling. Hiking, camping and survivalism to some degree.

A long time ago dancing, longer still (recently coming back to astronomy and electronics (at least for optics and robotics)) the p sciences (electronics, chemistry, astronomy, fireworks), magic, and 'collecting' (stamps, coins, rocks). I'm a packrat, with piles of puzzles, jokes and trivia. Also like games, like Trivial Pursuit, Scruples, etc. Oh! And, of course (hey, I ain't nevah seen an American write this, but several Europeans - so me too, ok?), girls.

I am essentially very, VERY shy, but like to meet people, especially Ms. So any of you all wanna see Nikko or Kinugawa, give a call and let's take a trip. (Note: as of this update (September 14, 2002) and move of home page, I have moved from Japan. Now, if any of you want to visit naturist sites in the Czech Republic, give me a call.
