angiocardiography (4)

(noun) - vessel + heart + write. = An x-ray picture of the heart and blood vessels after injection of a radiopaque (x-ray blocking) chemical.

cardiac arrest (2)

(noun) - heart + (Latin) stand (i.e. stop). = A stopping of the heart, causing death if not restarted by medical means. (Not to be confused with a heart attack!)

cardiogram (4)

(noun) - heart + letter. = The curves marked on a piece of paper, made by a cardiograph, used to diagnose heart problems.

(noun) - heart + (Latin) lung + revive. = A method used after cardiac arrest to restart the heart, using both heart massage and artificial respiration. Certain drugs may also be used by a doctor performing this procedure. Usually called CPR.
