biathlon

(noun) - two + contest. = An (Olympic) winter sport combining cross country skiing and rifle shooting.

bicarbonate

(noun) - two + carbonate. = A chemical containing the radical HCO3.

bicentennial

(noun) - two + hundred + ennial. = A 200th anniversary.

biceps

(noun) - two + head. = A muscle having two points of origin, usually used to refer to the front top muscle on the upper arm.

bicycle

(noun) - two + circle. = A common, two wheeled vehicle on a metal frame with a seat and handlebars for steering.

biennial

(adj.) - two + ennium (year period). = Lasting for two years, having a growing cycle of two years or happening every second year.

bifocal

(adj.)- two + hearth. = Having two different focal lengths. Bifocals is the noun form and refers to eyeglasses with two different focal lengths.

bigamy

(noun) - two + marriage. = The usually illegal (in most locales) practice of having two spouses (two husbands OR two wives) at the same time.

bilateral

(adj.) - two + side. = Having two sides. Bilaterally is the adverb form.

bilingual

(adj.) - two + tongue. = Able to speak two languages or something written in two languages. Bilingually is the adverb form and bilingualism is the noun form.

binomial

(adj.) - two + name. = Having two names or terms; especially in math, a polynomial with two terms.

bipartisan

(adj.) - two + part. = Having two parties, especially political ones.

biped

(noun) - two + foot. = An animal with two feet (including Homo Sapiens!).

biplane

(noun) - two + flat (surface). = An airplane having two sets of wings.

bisect

(verb) - two + cut. = To divide into two parts, usually equally. Bisection is the noun form.

bisexual

(adj. + noun) - two + sex. = Of or relating to having two sexes, having both sets of organs, or preference for persons of either sex.

biweekly

(adj. + adv.) - two + weekly. = Happening either every two weeks or twice a week. This is a confusing one in native English! Biweeklies is a noun form referring to magazines or newspapers issued every two weeks.
