(noun) - ancient + study. The finding, recovering and studying things related to ancient human cultures. Arch(a)eological is the adjective form, arch(a)eologically is the adverb form and arch(a)eologist is the noun which means a person who does this. (Note some people spell with the (a) and some without it.)

archaic

(adj.) - from the root word. = Characteristic of or relating to something from an older time, especially words, customs or laws still in occasional use. Archaically is the adverb form. Archaism is the noun form referring to a word, style, etc.
