It should be noted that some words are adjectives only, some adverbs only, and while some are both, some of those have the same form and some change form.
Perhaps one of the biggest mistakes is using an adjective in place of an adverb and vice versa.

| He was hard working. | He was hardly working. (meaning = not working hard!) He was working hard. |
| Please drive careful. | Please drive carefully. |
| She is a safety driver. | She is a safe driver. |
A few other points to consider:

| enough | The teacher was upset with the students' rowdiness, and screamed, "I've had enough!" |
| equally | The pie was divided equally. |
| full | I am full. |
| hardly | I could hardly hear what she was saying. |
| little | My head hurts, but only a little. |
| most | She had waited for me, but most impatiently. |
| partly | I was only partly finished when the teacher called time. |
