Different languages treat gender issues differently.
In addition, English, and esp. American English is undergoing many changes with gender in speech. However, for the present time, we should realize that there are certain pairs of words, which are quite different from each other, used to refer to members depending on their gender.
See the examples for a few, and then test your knowledge of some more.
